It’s been a while but currently I’m making memory bears for a family member out of their grandpa’s sweater. I’ve never done that so I bought a pattern from the Funky Friends Factory who I highly recommend. Her pattern instructions are so good!
The sweater I’m using was a favourite sweater that the Grandpa has had since the 1980’s. It’s pretty fragile and being a light knit, I figured I would have to hand sew most of it. I also had to fray block it and stabilize it.
I also thought, I better practice first. I didn’t have sweaters myself that were similar so I cut up one of my husband’s sweaters.
I did a quick mock up and hand sewed it quite quickly, I just wanted a general idea of what it would look like and how the pattern behaved. Then stuffed it.
I was not expecting to fall in love with him.
But look at him! Look at him!

That is wonderful. Just adorable.
Thank you! He’s so squishy soft too!
I ordered a pattern online for a memory bear. I haven’t tried it yet. My mother saw not
It was fun to do, I had to mostly hand sew the ones I made my niece as the fabric was a bit fragile.
He is adorable! Such a sweet thing to do! (Also love the chickens in the background. They look comical.)Have a great day!Cindy(Cmorpaint From WC)
Thank you! My husband carved the chickens, they make me laugh!
